Table Runners and Wall Hangings Runners and Wall Hangings :Wall hangings and table runners are basically smaller versions of quilts. Sue and I have done a lot of wall hangings and runners as they come together quickly and can be used as added decoration for holidays, seasons, or whatever the occasion. Our mother lives in an apartment for the elderly and it is a come practice for everyone in the apartment complex to decorate their apartment door with some sort of decoration. Sue and I have been making wall hangings, a.k.a. door hangings for our Mother, for every month of the year. It brings her a lot of joy and the other residents strike-up conversations with her about them. We have created a lot of table runners to decorate end tables, coffee tables, buffets, for virtually all occasions. A table runner can also be used as a wall hanging in the event you run out of tables, but still want to make one. We have often made multiple table runners for Christmas, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, etc. Having multiples for each occasion allows for a change during the that special period, as well as provides a good excuse for making another runner.
