Order Applique Patterns What we are offering:It is always important to understand what you are getting for your money. We offer two types of patterns that you might order: a stock pattern or a custom pattern. Both methods result in the same output, a pattern (usually 30" X 20" landscape or 20" X 30" portrait), which can be used as a template for creating an applique type of quilt. The template will consist of multiple sheets of paper that will be assembled into a template picture. The picture will be broken into sections, where each section would represent a piece of material that would go into the applique. Of course the buyer can consolidate multipe pieces into a single piece to reduce the number pieces or create more sections by dividing the offered sections into smaller pieces. Creating larger sections makes the applique easier to do, but larger sections cause a loss of detail and contrast. Smaller pieces make the applique more difficult, but more detail and contrast in the finished product can be obtained. We strive for a good balance between the two. Enough pieces to achieve good detail, but not so many to make it difficult to do; This is based on the standard size (30" X 20" landscape or 20" X 30" portrait) mentioned previously. So what does the standard measurement mean? The standard measurement means the size of the finished product including some background area, not just the main feature. It is the canvas to which the main feature is painted for the lack of a better term. Custom versus Stock:A standard pattern is one that we have already done, many of which can be seen on our applique page as finished products or down below a small thumbnail. We would be happy to increase or decrease the standard size by up to 50%. The base price would be maintained on smaller versions, with an extra $2.00 dollar charge on larger versions (up to 50%). It should be noted that smaller versions will reduce the size of the pieces potentially making it more difficult to sew. Conversely, larger versions will increase the size of each piece proportionally. The ability to alter the size gives our standard pattern some characteristics of a custom pattern. Also, try are three (3) design deal at just $25.00, that is a savings of almost $4.00! A custom pattern is one in which the person ordering a pattern would submit a good quality photo, preferrably digital with the order. The subject of the picture would then be created in a template as described above. Most single objects will result in a cost of $25.00 (U.S.) which will include postage. All orders of this type are initially quote orders in that we would confirm the price with you. Regardless of the type of pattern desired (custom or standard), all templates are copyrighted by www.passion4sewing.com. It should be also noted that templates will be shipped after payment is received and all sales are final for obvious reasons.
