A Little About Us

About Us:

The above picture shows us modeling a couple of sweatshirts where we embroidered the snowmen to get in the spirit of the season.  On the left is Pat Johnson and the right, Sue Taylor.  We are two of six sisters and live in Southeast Wisconsin.    We are both nurses, with each of us having more than 35 years in the field.  Sue is a nurse in an intensive care unit at a large hospital, and I am a nurse in a nursing home.

While we have always been close, over the last couple of years Sue has grown very interested in sewing and now we frequently spend a good deal of time together working on various sewing projects.   Our projects include various quilts, table runners, fabric bowls, wall hangings, and animal appliques. We would invite you to see some of the samples of our projects through out the web site.

As I stated, Sue has become interested in sewing only over the last couple of years; However I have been interested in sewing for more time that I care to remember.  My first sewing machine was a Singer that my husband bought for me as a surprise Christmas present some 35 years ago and it still works today.  I used that machine for about 30 years and then I bought myself a new Viking.   The Viking was just a basic sewing machine that offered a few more stitch styles than the old Singer.  It was on this machine that I got really got started with quilting.  I had begun to do some quilts and showed them to my sister Sue, who thought they really looked great and became interested.  It wasn't long before she was actively working on projects too.   We would spend time working on various projects, planning and cutting material and taking turns sewing on my Viking.

Pat and Sue hard at it.)

Sue's interest in sewing continued to grow to the point where she bought a Viking Designer 1, this marked the beginning of our start into machine embroidery.  My husband, shortly after Sue got her machine, literally surprised me by buying me a Viking Designer SE for our 37th wedding anniversary.  Both the Designer 1 and the Designer SE are both fantastic sewing machines and are the machines we are using today.   Here are the pictures of the Designer SE and Designer 1 respectively
